Sole Proprietor OTP Verification

When registering a 10DLC Sole Proprietor Brand, you must confirm your identity with registry via SMS with a One Time Password (OTP) verification code.

What is OTP Verification for Sole Proprietor Brands?

One Time Password (OTP) verification is a new step implemented to comply with the updated A2P 10DLC registration requirements. As part of this process for Sole Proprietor Brands, customers must provide a mobile number for their authorized contact and VOIP numbers are not allowed.

How do I complete the OTP Verification?

After you submit your application, TextP2P support will verify the data and make sure you have the necessary opt-in provided to pass the vetting process. Then we will submit your application to the carrier's registry and at that time you will receive an SMS OTP.

You should receive your OTP Verification SMS to the number you’ve specified in the previous step; the message will ask you to reply ‘YES’ to confirm*. 

*You must respond to this message within 24 hours, otherwise you will need to restart the OTP verification process again.

Once you’ve replied ‘YES’, refresh the page, and verify that your Brand status has changed from ‘Update required’ to ‘Registered’. This update can take up to five minutes. After it shows as Registered, the OTP Verification check is complete.

The owner of the mobile number will receive a text message sent from [phone] with the following text: "Please confirm your registration for US A2P Messaging by replying YES. Msg & data rates may apply."

The owner of the mobile number must reply "YES" back to the OTP message to complete Brand verification. Once they do that, they should receive another confirmation message on their mobile number that says "Thank you. Your registration has been confirmed." The Brand state will remain as APPROVED, and their identity_status will now change to VERIFIED

Note that only the first OTP is sent automatically; if you do not complete the OTP verification request within 24 hours, you need to contact TextP2P support for it to be resent.
